A Story of Transformation: Norbert’s Journey

We were overjoyed to see Norbert (in white smock) still actively involved with the church after two years. Back in 2022, during our Go North Missions to Dazongo, near Sirigu, we shared the Gospel with the locals and set up for a film show in the evening. Our pastor couldn’t make it due to an important appointment in the city, and that’s when Norbert stepped in. He volunteered to help with translation even though he was well-known in the community for being drunk at the time.

As Norbert translated our commentary during the film, something incredible happened. Though he was drunk, he listened intently to the Gospel message he was translating for the crowd. At the end of the show, when we led a prayer for salvation, Norbert prayed along sincerely, many will think he was just doing his translation job. Afterward, he thanked us for coming and confessed that he too had prayed with all his heart. He told us he would join the New Hope Baptist Church -- the host church, and we believe many came to the film show because they were curious to see how Norbert, a well-known figure in their community, could be part of such a noble task.

Indeed, God causes the growth! We are thrilled to share that Norbert was with us since we arrived in the North this year. He was sober, committed, and passionate about evangelism. He worked hard, he was time-conscious, and intimated that he loved being part of the mission to reach people in his community with the Gospel.

We are deeply grateful for your prayers, goodwill, and financial support.

Thank you for standing with us.

Blessings
