Challenge Tagline: There is a need for a discipleship assistant who is available on the go.
Many people are making the decision to accept Christ every day but the ratio of counsellors to these seekers is 70:1. There has to be a system to allow seekers take follow up lessons soon after they make the decision to ensure their foundation in Christ is settled. The challenge is twofold:
Every year, the Great Commission Movement of Ghana shows the Jesus Film on TV during Easter and Christmas seasons. Thousands of people pray to receive Christ. On average, only 20 counsellors are available to take converts through the discipleship lessons. Also, the system we have been using for convert distribution and connecting converts with counsellors has been inefficient. The result is that less than 5% of people who make decision for Christ in Ghana are contacted for follow up.
The importance of the five basic discipleship lessons cannot be over-emphasized. Therefore the non-provision of these lessons to converts is unacceptable and should not continue.
In the advent of new technologies, it is possible to train an AI powered Chatbot to take seekers through the follow-up lessons. The chatbot can be given strict instructions to use only the content used to train it and refer users to a counsellor only when the bot is unable to answer questions posed by seekers.

Even though the Great Commission Movement of Ghana and the body of Christ has found many ways to bring the Gospel to many people, strategies for continued available discipleship are inadequate. There is not yet a platform to allow new believers to go through discipleship lessons interactively whenever they desire to do so.
Develop a platform (possibly an AI-powered chatbot) that will allow new believers to interactively take the basic follow-up lessons. The Chat-bot will refer users to a counsellor if questions posed to it are beyond the scope of its training.
New believers, church leaders, students, leaders, every Christian.
This platform has a focus for West African Countries. It can however be used for any other country once translation is integrated.
This chatbot will require some level of user education which will be provided by short videos purposed for education.
Annual payments will be made for domain, hosting, cloud storage and hardware maintenance.
Existing solutions:
By the end of the #Hack event, there should be an up and running chatbot to take converts through the basic follow up lessons.
